Research Areas of the Materials Science and Engineering Program

The MSE at CUA peruses a broad range of research activity supported by external funds. Our faculty members are committed to high-quality classroom teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses and also involved to bridging the gap between fundamental understanding of physics, chemistry and biology, and the technological applications realized from nanoscale to macroscale. Our goal is the common goal of improving how materials are utilized and produced to meet the needs of society. Some of our research topics are listed below:

  • Nanotechnology
  • Composite Materials
  • Carbon Nanotube-Based Materials and Sensors
  • Photovoltaic Cells
  • Magnetic and Optical Materials
  • Glasses, Ceramics, and Metallurgy
  • Computational Materials Science

We have organized our research work by technique showing those projects that involve characterization of material structure, synthesis of new compounds and computation for simulating materials behavior. To learn more about research please click on experimental and theory.
